What if I do not know the APR?
Use an estimate for the first pass and replace it when you have the actual financing offer. The result will clearly reflect that assumption.
What is the dealer total price?
It is the total price the dealer says you will pay for the vehicle before financing. It is often called the out-the-door price. Ask for an itemized written breakdown.
Why does the tool ask about my trade payoff?
If you owe more than the dealer gives you for the trade, the difference is negative equity. That amount can be carried into the next loan and materially changes the deal.
Does the result tell me whether I should buy the car?
No. It summarizes the numbers you entered and highlights items worth checking. It does not evaluate vehicle condition, certify a fair market price, guarantee financing, or tell you what purchase decision to make.
Why include depreciation?
Because a car can lose value even when no monthly bill arrives. Economic cost should account for the value you give up by owning a depreciating asset.
Do you store my car deal?
